The Original Bug Shirt is made from extremely densely woven fabric, not normally used in clothing. The specialized materials used in the manufacturing process ensures the wearer is protected from biting mosquitoes, midges, horse-flies, ticks, black-flies and most other blood-sucking insects so common to Northern Europe, the Americas, Tropics and most of the rest of the world.

 

The "Elite Edition" Bug Shirt is our most versatile and popular style. It contains all the features of the "Original", in the same fabric, with a choice of colours, and can now be purchased in a natural camouflage pattern printed onto Sandstone coloured micro-fibre fabric.

How the “Elite Edition” differs from the “Original” Bugshirt®.

 

  • The zip has been moved from the bottom edge of the face mesh to the top, with the addition of two sliders. This is so it can be opened just a tiny bit; to look clearly through binoculars whilst preventing biting insects getting to you; and  because we've used one zip with two sliders, and not two zips, you can choose where the opening will be - maybe top dead centre (great for binoculars) or on one side so you can eat or drink.

  • An adjusting cord has been added to the back of the hood to accommodate all neck lengths, and the hood can be pulled back off your face if it blocks your peripheral vision. Used together these features permit the wearer to expose their face whilst keeping the rest of their body protected. (see picture)

  • The Elite Edition has a ribbed cuff, but still retains the elastic cord adjusters at the wrist. This provides added comfort and maximum effectiveness at keeping blackflies, midges and ticks out.

  • An additional patch pocket with a velcro flap on the front of the shirt.

  • The shape of the sleeve has been modified to wrap the elbow more completely and prevent mosquitoes from attacking that vulnerable and tender spot.

  • The draw-string lock at the waist has been moved slightly to the left. as a result of user comments who thought it was too centred.

  • The"Elite Edition" bug shirt is now offered in a Natural camouflage pattern.
